Review: Drew Vision's Shades of Summer

Drew Vision's newest release is a 5 song EP titled Shades of Summer. His smooth style is reminiscent of artists such as Frank Ocean, Drake, and John Legend. Shades of Summer is a collection of summer anthems seemingly created to be blasted while cruising through a muggy summer in a drop top, considering that the EP was recorded in Atlanta, the sound is fitting.

Vision's natural talent is undeniable as his smooth voice floats around chords in an angelic fashion. Each song is crafted from influences both old and new, creating a classic and commercially viable sound. He is an industry veteran, working with the superstars such as Justin Timberlake, Beyoncé & Kanye West. His highly anticipated EP lives up to expectations as a small collection of carefully curated songs. Shades of Summer showcases Vision's writing ability, demonstrating that he is a singer songwriter before all else. Each song is melody driven as the instrumentals are placed around his voice in a complimentary fashion.

Want em All is a sultry stand out track, written as a tribute to the beauty of women. Coated in millennial pink, Vision swims in oceans of beautiful candy coated women in this Los Angeles filmed video. The most original and memorable scene is the sultry underwater scene. The visuals are entrancing as Vision swims in hues of teal and blue with accents of bright pink, entangled with a lover.
